Chappell Roan's Midwest Princess Project marks one year with THE SUPER GRAPHIC SPECTACULAR in Los Angeles

A two-day LA fundraiser will cap the nonprofit's first year of supporting trans youth, with Chappell Roan herself headlining.

Chappell Roan is throwing a party with a purpose. The Super Graphic Spectacular, a two-day, Los Angeles–based charity fundraiser, will mark one full year of impact since The Midwest Princess Project's inception — the nonprofit Roan founded to support transgender youth. Taking place October 21-22 at The Shrine in Los Angeles, the event promises live entertainment, volunteer opportunities, and meaningful community engagement, all building toward a special Roan headline performance. All net proceeds will be donated to power the organization's next chapter of work.

The Midwest Princess Project has spent its first year building partnerships on the ground, and The Super Graphic Spectacular doubles as a showcase for that work: local LGBTQIA+ organizations providing direct services for trans youth will be on-site to connect with fans and share resources. The project is also opening tabling spots to additional nonprofits interested in getting involved, with outreach directed to info@midwestprincessproject.org.

That community-first approach tracks with how Roan has talked about the project's mission elsewhere this year. Honored at the 2026 Elton John Impact Awards alongside fellow LGBTQ+ advocates Orville Peck, Melissa Etheridge, Jonathan Bailey, Laverne Cox, and Billie Jean King, Roan put the stakes in plain terms: people deserve to be free, and deserve to be themselves — no qualifiers attached.

The anniversary fundraiser also arrives amid a banner year for Roan's public profile more broadly. She's the subject of a forthcoming graphic biography, Chappell Roan: Midwest Princess: The Illustrated Story of a Musical Femininomenon, out November 3, 2026, from Media Lab Books — a project that has Midwest Princess Project fingerprints on it, with illustrator Bridie Cox (aka Bridie Alpaca) donating a portion of her book advance to trans organizations selected by the nonprofit.
