Rebellion Publishing, the UK powerhouse behind 2000 AD and The Treasury of British Comics, has struck a non-exclusive partnership with Universal Distribution to bring its catalogue into the North American Direct Market.

The deal means Universal will now handle Rebellion's sprawling back-catalogue—decades of modern and classic comics—for retailers across the US and Canada.

"Universal is thrilled to be adding 2000 AD to our growing list of client publishers in the United States and Canada," said Tim Lenaghan, Vice President Purchasing and Publisher Relations for Universal. "Their long history of creating cutting edge stories that are simultaneously prescient and topical make 2000 AD an essential part of the industry landscape."

For the uninitiated, 2000 AD is The Galaxy's Greatest Comic, the long-running British anthology that gave the world Judge Dredd, Judge Death, and Rogue Trooper—along with a murderer's row of talent including Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Mark Millar, Jock, Brian Bolland, and Dave Gibbons.

Retailers will now have easier access to Rebellion's backlist, including the six-volume Best of 2000 AD line built for new readers, the original graphic novel Big-Ass Sword by Andreas Butzbach, the Eisner-winning I Am The Law: How Judge Dredd Predicted The Future by Michael Molcher, and fresh collections spotlighting Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, and Rogue Trooper.

"We're thrilled to continue expanding Rebellion's presence in the North American direct market with Universal," said Owen Johnson, Trade and Specialist Sales Manager for Rebellion. "Canada has long-standing and special ties with 2000 AD, so it's wonderful to know Canadian stores and readers can access this wealth of quality material like never before."

Rebellion titles start hitting shelves through Universal in October, with a wave of frontlist and backlist releases following in December 2026, including the weekly 2000 AD, the monthly Judge Dredd Megazine, and The Complete Zenith Colour Omnibus.
