Dynamite Entertainment is putting four decades of DuckTales comics back on shelves in five collected omnibus volumes, each gathering DuckTales comics from a different era and publisher (some of them out of print since they first hit comic shop shelves), with help from a fandom that apparently didn't need much convincing. The publisher’s new Kickstarter campaign, Classic Disney DuckTales Comic Book Adventures Return!, hit its modest $1,987 goal in roughly sixty seconds after it launched on July 21, 2026, and has since earned more than $379,000 in funding from more than 1,500 backers stoked to get the classic stories in print.
DuckTales comics have bounced between publishers almost as often as the show itself has been revived. The 1988 series launched at Gladstone Comics, which held the Disney comics license through much of the era of the now-classic syndicated afternoon cartoons, then moved to Disney Comics in the early ‘90s when Disney briefly brought publishing in-house. After a long gap, Boom! Studios picked the property back up in the early 2010s alongside its own Disney/Pixar comics line. After that, IDW Publishing held the license until Dynamite’s current run — timed to the 2017 DuckTales cartoon reboot’s afterglow and building on Don Rosa and Carl Barks’ foundational Scrooge McDuck lore. However, that churn is exactly why so much of this material has been out of print and what makes this Kickstarter campaign so cool: each handoff tends to strand the previous publisher’s books rather than carry them forward.
The campaign runs through August 20.
So, what’s in the box?

Volume 1 is Coin of the Realm, which collects all thirteen issues of the original 1988 DuckTales comic, published by Gladstone to tie in with the animated series, featuring work from William Van Horn, Daan Jippes, and the Jaime Diaz Studio.
