SDCC '26: IDW goes all in with stacked line-up for San Diego Comic-Con

IDW Publishing isn't holding back for San Diego Comic-Con 2026. The publisher just dropped its full slate for the show, and it's going overboard this year, with new series launches, a redesigned booth, 25 signings, daily panels, and enough exclusive variants to make any longbox weep.

At SDCC 2026, IDW's presence lands at #2729 on the show floor this year, sporting a brand-new design built to showcase both its blockbuster licensed properties and its growing original catalog, from kaiju carnage to queer indie horror.

Merch & freebies

Apparel drops cover Godzilla, Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, The Last Ronin, and Operation: Iron Coffin, alongside new TMNT lithographs from Urban Aztec.

Freebie hunters should prioritize the IDW Dark ashcan (Any Given Smile/You'll Never Leave This Place Alive), the Star Trek #1 ashcan (which also previews Star Trek: Zero Point #1), a Hello Kitty poster, and the IDW Crime sampler and poster.

SDCC exclusive variants

Headlining the announcement is Hello Kitty and Friends: Hello World #1, written by Mariko Tamiki with art by Cody Lemieux, which is getting an early-access debut with a cover from Mirka Andolfo, a pairing that should turn heads given Andolfo's horror-adjacent pedigree meeting Sanrio's flagship property.

Kaiju fans have their pick of exclusives: Sonic x Godzilla #1 arrives, with an exclusive cover from Natalie Haines, while The Horror of Godzilla #1 gets a cover from Andrew K Currey. Rounding out the Godzilla presence is the Godzilla vs. America: San Diego one-shot, which is fronted by a striking Godtail cover.

TMNT devotees have plenty to chase down, too. TMNT #300 gets a commemorative lithograph from Chuck U, The Last Ronin: Training Day debuts with Attack Pete art, and the original The Last Ronin #1 reprint gets a fresh Boss Logic variant.

Also arriving at SDCC 2026 is The Rocketeer: Infiltrator! #1, which has landed a pulpy Nathan Szerdy cover, Star Trek: Red Shirts - Ghost of the 21st Century #1, bringing Tristan Jones and Charlie Kirchoff together, and the Event Horizon: Dark Descent hardcover gets early access with another Jones cover.
