WildBrain’s Strawberry Shortcake is bringing some berry sweet energy to San Diego’s Comic-Con weekend — this time for a good cause. The beloved brand is partnering with The Animal Pad, a San Diego-based all-breed dog rescue, for the "Purrfect Pets Pawp-Up," a free, one-day adoption event designed to connect rescue dogs with their “furever” families.

The event lands at Malibu Farm San Diego in Seaport Village on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. PST — open to the public, no ticket required. Fans are also encouraged to bring their own pets for a full-on furry meetup.

On the docket:

  • Meet-and-greets with the Strawberry Shortcake mascot

  • Face time with adoptable rescue dogs from The Animal Pad

  • Photo ops built for the ’gram

  • Surprise giveaways

  • Pet-friendly “pupcakes” from Magnolia Bakery

  • Strawberry Shortcake-themed activities and other sweet extras

The Purrfect Pets Pawp-Up also serves as the launch pad for a new Strawberry Shortcake campaign — a year-long initiative spotlighting Strawberry and her Berry Besties’ own pets, paired with an expanded pet accessories line. Updates will roll out via @strawberryshortcake and @custardthecatofficial.
