Calling all Mofusand fans! Random House Worlds is officially bringing the viral Japanese kawaii cats, known collectively as Mofusand, to shelves this fall, with a trio of licensed books arriving September 1, 2026. Fans of the adorable cats will be able to preview the book series RHW’s booth (#1540) at Anime NYC 2026, taking place this weekend, August 20th to 23rd.

For anyone just catching on, Mofusand first debuted in 2017 as illustrations posted online by Japanese artist Juno, who draws round, fluffy cats dressed in adorable costumes—no names, no backstory, just an ever-expanding wardrobe that's included sharks, fried shrimp, bunnies, and fruit—-but the brand really took off in Japan around 2023, spreading through LINE sticker packs before landing on stationery, plushies, pop-up cafés, and collaborations with the likes of Sanrio and Uniqlo. It's since built a substantial following well beyond Japan, which is exactly the audience RHW is now courting with a print line, which includes the following three titles:

Step inside the Mofusand Cat Café, where playful kitty waiters serve up 35 whimsical, Japanese-inspired takes on classic café favorites. From cozy soups and sandwiches to refreshing drinks and sweet treats, it’s a celebration of Mofusand cuteness and Japanese café culture.
A charming guided journal filled with Mofusand’s sweetest kitties—plus a sheet of stickers! Made for journaling, doodling, list-making, or simply adding some kawaii character to your desk or stationery collection.
Fans can add their own creative spin to Mofusand with illustrations of playful, sleepy, and productive kitties dressed as sharks, bunnies, strawberries, bumblebees, and more.
