Bendis and Gaydos reunite on new JESSICA JONES: ALIAS series
Twenty-five years after they first cracked open Marvel's street-level noir with Alias, Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos are bringing Jessica Jones back for another case — and this time, for the fan-favorite character’s 25th anniversary, it's personal.

Jessica Jones: Alias, a five-issue limited series from the original creative team, launches this December from Marvel Comics. The news broke earlier today via Entertainment Weekly, alongside first-look art from returning cover artist David Mack.
“Jessica’s responsibility to herself and to her cases and the kind of case that only Jessica can do has evolved as she has evolved,” Bendis explained to EW. “So an anniversary is a great opportunity to create a case that allows Jessica to re-explore the Marvel universe.”

The premise picks Jessica up after her stint as First Lady of New York, a chapter she's eager to leave behind. But rest never lasts long for Marvel's most battle-worn private eye: a routine abduction case spirals into something far stranger, dragging her into some of the most obscure corners of the Marvel Universe.
"Jessica has, since her debut, been something very different in my life," Bendis told EW, reflecting on the character's staying power with readers over the past quarter-century, a connection he described as deeply personal, built on the way fans see themselves in her.

“There’s something very emotional and intimate about the way [people] talk about her,” he added. “It’s always been the best kind of conversation you could ever hope to have with readers. People see themselves in her and love her and root for her. All of that is in this series.”
Gaydos returns on interior art, with Mack, the series' original and most iconic cover artist, back on painted covers. The anniversary issue also carries a stacked variant cover lineup: Corin Howell for the 25th anniversary cover, Ito, and Miguel Mercado, plus a Mack virgin variant.

Jessica’s Jones: Alias #1 (of 5) hits comic shops on December 23, 2026. Preorders are open now at local comic shops, with more information available at Marvel.com.
