BAD IDEA has landed a genuine coup for its horror-comic-meets-vinyl experiment: Krysten Ritter is joining the all-star voice cast of IT Demands Sacrifice: Record Read-A-Long, the limited-edition 7" vinyl companion to the publisher's upcoming horror series IT Demands Sacrifice from Philip Gelatt (Love, Death & Robots) and David Yarovesky.

Ritter is best known for originating Jessica Jones in Marvel's Jessica Jones, the Peabody, Hugo, and Emmy-winning Netflix series she led for three seasons before reprising the role in The Defenders and Daredevil: Born Again. The performance earned her a Critics' Choice Award nomination, multiple Saturn Award nods, and a Webby Award — the kind of resume that makes a surprise voice-cast reveal actually feel like a surprise.

Her other credits span Jane Margolis on AMC's Breaking Bad, the lead role in Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, and turns in Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Tim Burton's Big Eyes, Confessions of a Shopaholic, and She's Out of My League. She's also no stranger to Yarovesky's work specifically, having played the witch Natacha in his Netflix horror-fantasy film Nightbooks — and she's logged serious voice-acting time on The Simpsons, Krapopolis, Robot Chicken, and The Cleveland Show.

IT Demands Sacrifice: Record Read-A-Long is BAD IDEA's revival of the comic-book record read-alongs that defined 1970s bedrooms everywhere, updated for a new generation: each limited-edition package pairs an exclusive comic with a 7" vinyl record featuring a fully performed version of the story — voices, score, and sound effects included.

Ritter joins a voice cast already stacked with comics creators and industry names, including Brett Bean (D'Orc), Mike Carey (Lucifer), Shelly Bond (Vertigo), Tomás Giorello (Planet Death), and Jorge Fornés (Batman), among others. And BAD IDEA is framing this as just the opening move — Ritter is the first of several previously unannounced performers joining the project, with additional cast reveals promised in the days ahead.

This October, Emmy-winning screenwriter Philip Gelatt (Love, Death & Robots), filmmaker David Yarovesky (Brightburn), artist Adam Pollina (X-Force), and colorist Dean White (Conan the Barbarian) launch a new horror series with IT Demands Sacrifice #1.

On a quiet farm, Bronson — the youngest and smallest of a close-knit family of goats — lives a life of sun-drenched fields, fresh hay, and sibling rivalry. His biggest problem is proving to his older siblings, and his imposing father, that he's more than the runt of the herd.

Then, in a single night, everything changes.

A drug-fueled, sex-obsessed satanic hippie murder cult descends on the farm, slaughtering the family who raised and protected the goats before abducting Bronson and his loved ones. Deep in the wilderness, under a blood-red moon, hundreds of cult followers gather for an ancient ritual meant to summon a ravenous demon — with the goats as the price of admission.

Innocent, outmatched, and absurdly cute, Bronson has to find a courage he never knew he had, facing down knife-wielding cultists and horrors beyond his understanding in a desperate bid to save his family before they're offered up in blood.
