The Queen of the Monsters is stepping up to the plate. The Los Angeles Dodgers and TOHO Co., Ltd. have announced Godzilla Minus Zero Night, a stadium-wide takeover set to close out the Dodgers' 2026 regular season home schedule — and it's shaping up to be one of the more monstrous crossovers in recent MLB promo history.

Here's the pitch: the first 40,000 fans through the gates at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium for the 7:10 p.m. game will walk away with an exclusive Godzilla Minus Zero bobblehead — one per person, per valid ticket. Stick around after the final out, and everyone in the building gets a Godzilla-themed drone show lighting up the night sky. In the days leading up to the event, expect a rollout of in-stadium activations designed to build hype before first pitch.

The promotion arrives ahead of Godzilla Minus Zero, the follow-up to Godzilla Minus One, the film that made history as the Best Visual Effects winner at the 96th Academy Awards. Written, directed, and helmed on VFX by Takashi Yamazaki, the new film picks up in 1949, two years after the events of its predecessor, and continues the story of the Shikishima family as they confront a fresh catastrophe.

“We are pleased to partner with TOHO on Godzilla Minus Zero Night, an evening at the ballpark that should be a sure-fire hit with Dodger fans,” said Lorenzo Sciarrino, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships for the Los Angeles Dodgers. “This will be the perfect event to cap our 2026 regular season home schedule.”

For the uninitiated, TOHO isn't just the studio behind Godzilla — founded in 1932, the company spans film production and distribution, theatrical exhibition, real estate development, and a rapidly growing anime business that includes juggernauts like My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen. Its film catalog also includes Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, alongside the Godzilla franchise that's terrorized (and captivated) audiences for over seven decades.

“We are deeply honored to launch our partnership between the Los Angeles Dodgers — a monumental Major League Baseball franchise that continues to captivate fans worldwide — and Godzilla, a global icon loved for over 70 years,” said Keiji Ota, Director, Senior Managing Executive Officer and Chief Godzilla Officer at TOHO. “Both names share a powerful legacy of stepping onto the world stage, embracing relentless challenges, and fueling the passion of millions.”

Ota framed the partnership as a meeting of two forces built for scale: “Through this partnership, Godzilla's overwhelming presence and monumental scale will fuse with the dynamic energy of the Dodgers, delivering an exclusive, one-of-a-kind experience. We imagine the roar of the stadium crowd echoing across the globe, capturing the very spirit of Godzilla itself.”

Both sides are keeping some cards close to the chest for now. Additional activations tied to the partnership are still to be announced. “We look forward to bringing a truly unforgettable collaboration to Godzilla fans and Los Angeles Dodgers fans everywhere,” Ota said. “Please stay tuned for what is to come.”
