Toho International, the U.S. arm of the Japanese studio behind Godzilla, has teamed up with Happy Color, one of the biggest color-by-number apps on the market, for an official collection celebrating the kaiju icon. Six images dropped in the app on September 17, 2026, and having seen the actual art, this isn't a lazy licensing cash-grab—it's a genuine tour through Godzilla's eras.

The lineup ping-pongs across styles instead of settling on one look. Check them out below:

There's a lightning-wreathed, painterly homage that reads like a 2014 poster redux, all towering scale and skyscraper-dwarfing menace.

There's a thrashing, comic-inked rampage panel—claws, rubble, and radioactive-green energy crackling off him mid-destruction.

Then, a moody underwater piece has him lurking reef-side with genuine "apex predator" body language.

One image goes full Mechagodzilla showdown, fangs locked against a chrome-and-hydraulics rival in a blast of sparks and smoke.

There's a grinning medieval-siege gag with knights on a castle wall facing him down like he's a dragon out of a fantasy epic.

And in a nice curveball, one piece renders him in stark black-and-white, standing in a WWII-style battlefield full of downed artillery, clearly channeling the anti-war subtext baked into the original 1954 film.

"Every composition is filled with movement, dramatic scale, and powerful energy," the Happy Color team said in a statement, adding that the goal was to preserve Godzilla's "monumental presence" while keeping the look fans already recognize.

Kristin Parcell, General Manager of Toho International, framed the collaboration as part of a broader push to get Godzilla in front of fans outside traditional screens. "It's exciting to bring the Godzilla universe a new way to interact with Godzilla and in a way create their own version," Parcell said, calling it a way to "reimagine how fans engage with Godzilla beyond the screen."

The timing tracks with the year Godzilla is about to have. Toho has Godzilla Minus Zero set for wide theatrical release across North America starting Friday, November 6, 2026, riding the momentum of Godzilla Minus One's 2023 breakout success. A digital coloring tie-in is a low-lift way to keep the character in fans' hands—literally—ahead of that release, with more Godzilla content promised for the app down the line.

The collection is available now in the Happy Color app.
