Terry Matalas teases Billy Maximoff's return in VISIONQUEST

Terry Matalas just pulled the classic showrunner move: an "innocent" comment on a fan's Instagram post that sets the whole fandom on fire. The VisionQuest creator and show runner wondered how Vision could possibly know about Agatha Harkness, then floated that he'd need "someone more intimately familiar with that situation." And we all know who spent a whole season on the Witches' Road with her.

The pinned comment landed on a post from @gabriellaangeliina. Vision, Matalas argued, has nothing but SWORD reports to go on — "Give a synthezoid a break." The post's author caught the hint instantly: "Did you just leave a clue in my comment section…. Blink twice for yes 👀." At press time, Matalas hadn't answered.

So, who's that someone? Billy Maximoff. Agatha All Along ended with Billy seemingly transferring his brother’s soul into the body of a recently drowned boy, Thomas Shepherd — the setup for Tommy's arrival. The finale also had Agatha accompanying Billy on his search for his brother.

The fan theory fuel was already stacked high. Joe Locke appeared as a special guest at the London premiere on October 12, photographed beside Paul Bettany and Ruaridh Mollica. Mollica reportedly told Entertainment Tonight (via JustWatch) how great it was working with Locke on scenes for the MCU. Still, neither Marvel nor Disney has said where or how Billy appears.

VisionQuest is streaming on Disney+.
